A psychiatrist is a physician specializing in the branch of medicine known as psychiatry. As a specialist in the field, a psychiatrist uses their knowledge and skills to study, diagnose, prevent, and treat mental disorders. They evaluate a patient’s symptoms based on their physical and mental conditions and suggests appropriate care for faster recovery.

Psychiatrists conduct mental as well as physical examination of the patient using various medical devices and procedures as part of their clinical assessment process. They employ brain imaging techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) scan, computerized tomography (CT), blood testing, and other examination tests. To help the patient get cure of their mental disorders, psychiatrists suggest medicine, psychotherapy, and so based on the condition and need of the patient.
