Pediatric dentists are specialized care providers who are trained in the field of pediatric dentistry that deals with the offering of health services to children having dental problems and diseases. From diagnosis to treatment and prevention of dental issues in children, pediatric dentists take charge of the dental well-being of every child. Apart from offering care, they also educate the patient and their parents on how to maintain healthy teeth and prevent related problems. They also work in dental schools and colleges that train students studying pediatric dentistry and conducts research work to develop new ways of treating oral health issues in children.

After graduating from dental school, a pediatric dentist aspirant must undertake the specialized program in pediatric dentistry and acquire necessary training. The program may be of two to three years followed by advanced certifications and passing of license examination to finally practice as a specialist in the field.
