Clinical pharmacists are healthcare professionals working in collaboration with nurse practitioners, physicians, and other medical workers. They work in various settings. When they work in a hospital setting, their primary job is to assist the doctor, go to hospital round, monitor patient‘s response to medications, and advice drug therapies. Whereas in an ambulatory care clinic, they prepare a detailed list of prescribed medicines and in an industrial setting, clinical pharmacists educate insurance companies about latest drugs and how they benefit and also analyze the cost factor of medications.

Clinical pharmacists are highly educated especially in biomedical, socio-behavioral, pharmaceutical and clinical branches of science. Most of them have Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) degree in pharmacy.
