The Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 is a law by the US that allows employees and their families to continue their health insurance coverage in case of certain unseen occurrences. The events that qualify an employee to take advantage of this Act include job transition, voluntary or non-voluntary loss of job, death, divorce, etc. However, for the continuation of the coverage, the individual may need to pay a premium. Also, this Act applies to a group of 20 people or more.
