Presently known as skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), nursing homes are a residential care centers offering twenty-four-hour nursing care to patients in need. This medical facility center comprises licensed healthcare professionals such as nurses, nursing assistants, caretakers, and others. Individuals, who need high-level of medical care or emergency care services, get admitted to a nursing home to receive assisted living care. While patient care is the responsibility of the registered nurses, keeping the facility clean and hygienic is the responsibility of house-keeping staff in the nursing home.
A nursing home offers a comprehensive set of care services including occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, physical therapy, etc. In some cases, nursing homes also offer memory care services.
